How to Weight Train for Specific Sports:  
Today, professional sports people are looking at weight training from a somewhat different angle. Tennis trainers recommend lower weights and higher repetitions so as to increase speed and agility without losing flexibility. Baseball players increase the distance of their home runs with heavy weights and fewer reps. Golfers, going for power in their drives, should use medium weights and increased reps. For flexibility and quick muscle movements, as well as control for the short game, less weight and more reps are better for golfers. Leave the super-heavy weights and fewer reps for achieving huge bulk to professional weight trainers. Fifteen to twenty minutes of stretching following weight training is a must.

Services Offered

Demas Body-Shaping offers a choice of (3) programs, each 45 minutes – 1 hour in duration. Clients are not bound to one particular program.

The programs are as follows:

1) Individual – strictly one on one basis for those who want the complete focus of their trainer

2) Group Training – If a person feels more comfortable exercising with a friend it is available. This group also gets a discounted rate.

3) Sports Performance Enhancement Training – Many of our clients enjoy sports such as golf, tennis, racquetball, basketball and others that demand a high level of strength and endurance. This program is offered in either an individual or group session with a discounted rate.

Each program consists of muscle strength and conditioning, flexibility training, core stability training, cardiovascular training, nutritional guidance, weight control and injury prevention/post-rehabilitation.

One, two or all three programs may be chosen.

Our fitness regimens are geared to fit the needs of everyone: male, female, children, adolescents, adult and the geriatric population.

After signing a waiver, all participants are given a 45-minute initial assessment and a program is then designed based on the testing results.

Included in an initial assessment is as follows:

Recovery Heart Rate Assessment – Determines how fast your heart rate returns to pre-exercise pulse rate following exercise
Body Composition Assessment – Determines lean muscle vs. body fat % on your body.
Flexibility Assessment – Determines overall body flexibility
Strength Assessment – Determines overall body strength
Two full health/fitness/nutrition questionnaires

There is no trick to getting in shape, nor is there a pill you can take to become fit. Everyone needs to be instructed and informed on how to reach his or her fitness levels.
